Ebotse shooting case postponed

The man accused of shooting dead two people, at his home in the luxury Ebotse Golf and Country Estate, had his case postponed to March 6.

Magistrate Ian Cox postponed the matter in the Benoni Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 6, to allow for further investigation.

The state is still awaiting an additional ballistic report.

Cox extended murder accused Retief Liebenberg’s bail.

Liebenberg made a brief appearance before a packed court gallery.

Defence advocate Marius van Wyngaardt told the court the defence has enlisted their own ballistic expert.

The state will provide the post mortem report to the defence by February 11, to be made available to the ballistic expert.

Liebenberg is accused of shooting dead Dewalt Visser Snr (46) and his son, Dewalt “Poenie” Visser (20), on October 31, last year.
