Bakkie rolls, injures three

Three men were transported to hospital, after sustaining moderate injuries in an accident on New Modder Road, on Saturday.

They were travelling in a single-cab bakkie when the driver lost control on a bend, causing the vehicle to roll several times.

“Paramedics were ushered to the vehicle by members of the public and were told that a man was still inside the badly damaged bakkie,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.

“Paramedics investigated and found a man in his late 20s lying on the roof of the vehicle; he was extricated and found to have suffered moderate injuries.”

He was transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care.

The other two men, believed to be in their early 30s, also sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

The accident will be investigated.
