Lions at your service

People can contact the Lions if they miss the club's food collection drive or drop-off points which are planned for December 7.

The Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club will hopes to collect two tons of food on December 7, by having a food collection point at Oakfields Pick n Pay, from 9am to 3pm.

They will also drive in marked cars and sport Lions attire on the same day, in Rynfield, Northmead and Farrarmere, collecting food.

The food will be donated to needy families in Benoni, Daveyton and Etwatwa.

“With the tight economy and the exchange rate, a lot of people are really battling to keep their heads above water and we are hoping to make the festive season a bit easier for some,” said Lions member Beaulieu Maré.

“We know that Benonians are very generous and even one or two tins of food will make a difference.”

For more information contact Nick Maré on 082 572 2488.
