Three ejected from car

Three people were flung from the car in which they were travelling, when it rolled down an embankment on Friday evening, November 22.

The vehicle came to rest on a wall of a water canal, at the Putfontein east-bound off-ramp of the N12.

“A man in his late 20s was found near the water after bystanders had pulled him out,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.

“He was immediately assessed by paramedics and found to be in a serious condition.

“The paramedics stabilised him on the scene and he was transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care.”

The remaining two patients, a man and woman, both in their early 30s, sustained moderate injuries and were both transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

The cause of and events leading to the accident will be investigated by local authorities.
