The Benoni City Times is hosting its Bride of the Year competition in conjunction with Brentwood Pick n Pay and we are extending the closing date to vote for your favourite August bride from November 8 to November 15, at 5pm, and the date for September brides to enter from November 11 to November 22, at 3pm.

Benoni brides who were married in August have submitted their wedding pictures to the City Times.

Readers can vote by SMSing their name and surname, followed by bctaugust, along with the number of the bride, to 35718.

SMSes costs R1.50.

Each month’s winner will go through as a contestant for the Bride of the Year competition.

SMS votes will count 30 per cent and the other 70 per cent will be made up by a panel of judges.

BRIDE 1 — Carmen Summersgill married Dean Chow on August 17, at Maranatha Community Church. Their reception was at Elsje’s Country Inn.

BRIDE 2 — Claire Forgan married Grant Westman at the Tres Jolie Function Venue, in Ruimsig, on August 31.

BRIDE 8 — Yolandi Zeeman married Wade Gietl at Diep in die Berg, in Pretoria, on August 25.

BRIDE 9 — Humaira Shabuddin married Waseem Sayed on August 25, at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre, in Boksburg.

BRIDE 10 — Nicole Rosse and Christopher Swart were married on August 31. The ceremony was held at Summerplace, in Boksburg.

Calling all September brides

Local brides who were married in September can now enter for the Bride of the Month competition.

Photographs can be emailed to tanyab@caxton.co.za, with the subject “Bride of the Year”.

Only the bride must be in the photograph.

The picture must be a jpeg attachment of no less than 500KB (or bigger than 4MG).

The entries are open only to brides who were married in September 2013.

The following details must be submitted along with the photograph: the bride’s name and maiden name, the groom’s name and surname, date and venue of wedding, current residential address and the bride’s contact details.

The monthly winner will have to provide proof of her wedding date (marriage certificate).

The winning Bride of the Month will receive a shopping voucher valued at R1 000 and a R500 voucher will be given to one lucky reader who voted for her.

Each month’s winner will go through as a contestant for the Bride of the Year competition.

The overall winner will receive a local or overseas trip for her and her husband to the value of R25 000.

The runner-up will win R10 000.
