I recently paid a visit to Legends laser lipo and lashes, a non-surgical aesthetic studio in Westdene, and, getting straight to the point, I lost 2cm in 20 minutes.
This was done without exercise, without following a diet and without feeling like I was having the life sucked out of me.
I underwent the ultrasound cavitation treatment, a body sculpting treatment with no scars, no discomfort and no side-effects.
The result is instant loss of fat cells and guaranteed reduction of between 1cm to 3cm on the area treated per session.
Legends is one of 11 branches and run by Debbie Maullin and her daughter, Chelsé.
After filling out a medical card, Debbie asked me from which area I would like to have fat reduced; I chose my saddle area, as the jeans have been getting a bit tight lately.
My measurements were exactly 95cm.
Without further ado it was on with the treatment.
Using an ultrasonic cavitation probe connected to an ultrasonic and radio frequency cavitation and cellulite machine, Debbie made small circular motions on the area I chose to have treated.
She explained that, during the treatment, ultrasonic waves are produced, which basically burst fat cells and transform them into liquid substances, which disintegrate in the body naturally.
This was completely pain-free and was accompanied by regular questions as to my state of comfort.
“A total of 120ml fat cells can be broken in a session,” said Debbie.
She explained that the body stops producing fat cells after the age of 18 years, after which they only have the ability to grow and shrink. Once a fat cell has burst, it is permanently gone.
“A lot of people cannot gym for various reasons,” said Debbie.
“This treatment is not like liposuction where you lose all the weight at once, but it is cheap and safe.”
The cavity treatment can be performed on the stomach, buttocks, love handles, legs and arms areas, and the number of treatments required is determined by how much fat needs to be taken off.
After the session, my saddle area was measured again and this time it was 93cm, which is usually the result after two weeks’ gym sessions for my body.
Other treatments the studio provides include skin tightening and wrinkle reduction, laser therapy, teeth whitening, lash curls and semi-permanent gel mascara.
They also provide an eating plan for clients who request it.
The treatment was performed in a private, warm atmosphere by Debbie and her daughter, whose professional and fun style of operating made my experience extra pleasant. TB
