Bar One Man Hunt

Former Willowmoore High School pupil and Lakefield resident Fadeen “DJ Creamy” Mia (29) has made it into the top 16 of the Bar One Manhunt reality television show.

“I was extremely excited to know that I managed to make the top 16 of about 10 000 entrants,” said Mia.

“But the excitement soon wore off and I immediately got my game face on — started thinking about the game at hand,” he added.

The Bar One Manhunt is a show where 16 modern-day Hercules-type entrants, who have been selected from across the country, battle it out for the grand prize and the ultimate Bar One Man title.

“I entered the show because I wanted to prove to myself that I could be part of such exceptional individuals and hopefully come out on top,” said Mia.

He added that he tried entering last year but only made it to the first stage of the selection process, this year he managed to pass all five audition stages.

“This competition is extremely taxing on all facets of an individual, my physical and mental game will need to be in top form if I plan to do well in the show,” said Mia

He added that he is looking forward to all the challenges and will do everything possible to come out tops.

“I am a straight forward person and my word is my bond; I am hoping that there won’t be a time where I will need to backstab someone in order to stay in the game,” he said.

He added that he is going to try his utmost to keep his character and integrity throughout the show.

Contestants will be pitting their skills, wits and endurance against each other in a bid to take home the prizes, including R500 000 in cash from Nestle, a Hilux Double Cab and a Yamaha Grizzly 300 quad bike sponsored by Bidvest – and the title of South Africa’s ultimate Bar One Man.

Mia added that he will share the prize money with his family.

He works as a project manager at Standard Bank, as an East Wave Radio DJ and club DJ, and is also a part time actor and model.

If he is not DJ-ing in his spare time he is either with family and friends, at the gym or playing soccer.

Batman is his favourite superhero, because he is the only superhero who does not have any super powers.

“This proves that you don’t have to have superpowers to do great things in life,” he added.

All round perfection are the words Mia uses to describe himself.

The third season of the show aired on July 30, on SABC 1, Benoni residents can watch Mia do his thing every Tuesday, at 9pm.
