An invitation to women

The Rainbow Foundation, in Daveyton, invites women to a Women's Day celebration, on August 9.

The foundation will be hosting an “All White Event” at the Marivate Community Hall, in Daveyton.

Tickets are inclusive of lunch, a goodie bag and lots of great prizes to be won.

Proceeds will go towards providing dignity packs to disadvantaged teen girls in schools, to promoting feminine hygiene and health, and to facilitating women empowerment and development.

Two schools in Etwatwa, Thembelihle and Kgolakganyo primary schools, have been adopted by the foundation.

Foundation founder Felicity Makwendini said the guest speaker for the day will be Angie Diale, of the Relate show, on SABC.

Makwendini said the event is meant to celebrate women from all walks of life and a candlelight prayer session will be led by women from different churches.

“The prayer is meant to highlight violence against women, raise awareness of HIV/Aids, the high unemployment rate, crime and drug abuse,” she added.

Women are encouraged to attend the event in order to be empowered and to use the platform created for networking reasons.
