Local business helps bunnies
This weekend will be your last chance to help Rebel Fruit and Veg contribute to the animals of the Benoni Bunny Park.
The business, on 1 Main Reef Road, began an initiative on June 25, whereby one 5kg bag of carrots will be donated to the Bunny Park Animals 911 Group for every five 5kg purchased.
This initiative started when Tony Ascencao, manager of the Rebel Fruit and Veg branch, received a request from the Bunny Park interest group for assistance.
The initiative can be supported on Saturday from 7am to 6pm, and Sunday from 7am to 2pm.
Tania Forrest-Smith, of the Bunny Park Animals 911 Group, said people are welcome to donate the following items for their feeds, which are done six days of the week:
• Cabbage
• Spinach
• Broccoli
• Sweet potatoes
• Pumpkin
• Apples
• Hay
• Pellets for sheep, cows and goats
