East Rand boxing fans were treated to a champagne performance by 25-year-old Joburg super-middleweight prospect Rowan Campbell (11-0-7 KO), who retained his IBO Africa super-middleweight title via a seventh round technical knockout victory over Patrick Mukala of the DRC at Emperors Palace on August 23.

• Junior middleweight Rourke ‘Razor’ Knapp (9-0-1-7 KO) was taken the full distance for only the second time in his nine-fight career, gaining a unanimous 10-round points decision over the rugged Khazak journeyman Aleksandra Zhuravskiy.
• Junior bantamweight Ricardo Malajika (5-0-3 KO), returned to the East Rand and left with the Gauteng junior bantamweight belt around his waist with an impressive fifth round TKO victory over Layten Gloss.
• Boksburg junior lightweight rookie Caydon Truter, out of Harold Volbrecht’s Hammer Gym, gained a four round points decision over southpaw Lopez Maluleke and junior middleweight Darrin Rossouw made his professional debut with a fourth round TKO victory over Ramsey Hlongwani.
