Sylvanian Families Festival at Northmead Square

The Sylvanian Families Festival was hosted by Pops Toys at Northmead Square recently.

Natasha Robinson (15) and Alex Candiotes (15) from Rynfield AH assisted at the Pops Toys stall.

“Sylvanian Families were created in Japan in the 1980s,” said a Britz collector, Santie Meyer.

Sylvanian Families is a line of collectible anthropomorphic animal figurines made of flocked plastic.

Sylvanian characters, displays and exhibits, including children’s entertainment, were available on the day.

Santie Meyer (Britz) drove all the way to Benoni to showcase only 15 per cent of her collection.

Rynfield cuties Laila Venter (10), Demi Vincent (8), Ava van der Merwe (9), Mika Vincent (11) and Meili Howell (10) with the Sylvanian Family. These youngsters also had some of their Sylvanian Families on display at the Square.

Celize (11) and Jessalyn Naudé travelled from Pretoria to display their collection. According to Jessalyn, the collection is a team effort between herself and her daughter for the past four years.
