Santa spoils little ones

Seven-year-old Benoni resident Siyabonga Ndlovu was all smiles when he received some Christmas goodies from Santa’s helper, Joan Blaney, and Santa, Chris Potgieter (both of Benoni) during a visit to the Garden of Lights at Emperors Palace on December 13.

Siyabonga was one of the young cancer patients invited to the Palace of Dreams for a festive season treat, in co-operation with Cupcakes for Hope, a non-profit organisation that aims to raise awareness and funds for families in need of medical assistance by baking cupcakes.

Apart from meeting Santa, getting some special goodies and strolling through the gardens, the youngsters were also treated to dinner with their families and enjoyed rides at the funfair adjacent to the garden.

The Garden of Lights will go to Cansa and the Peermont Children’s and Education Trusts that benefit various community development programmes.

The garden will be open until January 3.
