Good wine, company and art get together for charity

Art Alive Art School held its eighth Annual Art Exhibition at the school recently.

The exhibition showcased the work from various artists associated with the school.

It ran from Wednesday through Saturday, July 29.

Once again the winter event drew interesting people with perpetually smiling faces, enjoying each other’s company and the soup, wine, sherry and beautiful art.

The event was held to raise funds for the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora’s charitable projects.

Eighty-one charity squares were sold, representing R14 580 that will go to charity.

Furthermore, the artists managed to sell 80 of their artworks.

The idea behind the charity squares is for the artists to paint or draw on square canvasses of predetermined size, for them to be sold and for the proceeds to go entirely to charity.
