Serene beauty astounds at Open Garden Day

Nothing soothes the soul as well as the tranquil serenity of nature.

Enthusiasts from all over descended upon Rynpark Four to Seven recently, to take in the beauty and elegance of the colourful gardens on display.

The Rynpark Association of the Aged held its third Open Garden Day, where admirers could freely wander between the back yards filled with roses, proteas and lupins.

A tea garden in Rynpark Six, run by the Benoni Van Ryn Rotary Anns offered a moment of rest in the shade.

Meanwhile displays by the Q-East quilting club and Eastern Model Railway Interest Group (Emrig) could be found in the dining hall and frail care centre.

The Rotary Club of Benoni Van Ryn and the Benoni Host Lions Club were involved in different aspects of organisation on the day.

The Community Centre in Rynpark Five offered a display of arts and crafts, plus several stalls selling handmade articles and plants.

The Tom Newby School Marimba Band and the Benoni High Pipe Band entertained the crowds on the day.

All funds raised by the event will go to the Rynpark Assisted Living Fund and will be used to improve the lifestyle of the estate’s frail care residents.
