Good deals at annual market

Residents of Eddy House hosted their annual morning market, on October 1.

Rosa Taljaard (left) and Gretha du Preez sold a wide selection of books.

According to Denise Stanton, manager of Eddy House, the money that was raised at the market will contribute to the subsidised meals that the residents are given at the home.

The variety of stalls catered for all ages; there were stalls that stocked jewellery, toys, art and handmade items.

Joy Nicholson showcased a colourful collection of jewellery at her stall.

Magda Wolmarans sold cups that had catchy phases, characters from popular movies and emblems of South African rugby teams printed on them.

Kim Hansen offered a variety of handmade items, such as bookmarks, earrings, necklaces and key rings.

Ursula Angove sold jam and honey.

“This is the day where friends and families of residents come and support their family members,” said Stanton.

The amount raised was not known at the time of going to print.
