The Greater Benoni Child Welfare held a World Food Festival on September 24, to raise funds for the organisation.
Chris Mathios and Taryn du Plooy stocked all kinds of Lego at the festival.
The festival was held on the welfare’s premises, 1 Third Street, Northmead, from 10am until 6pm.
Chairperson of the board, Mary Goby, said they decided to host the festival in order to raise funds for the society.
“It’s Heritage Day, so we decided to do something different that everyone would enjoy,” said Goby.
“We would like to hold the festival every year, if possible.”
On the day, there were a variety of children’s activities, live entertainment, art and crafts stalls, food stalls, beer and soft drinks stalls, open mic sessions and zumba dancers.
Funds raised will go towards child welfare.
Goby said the organisation’s staff and board members contributed to the day’s success.
