Poppy Day

People may attend from 10am onwards.

There will be a two minute silence for the fallen and those who have survived.

At 11am, wreaths will be laid in honour of the fallen.

The public is invited to bring their own wreaths along.

They must then be at the shellhole by 10am.

People may also attend the Apex Military Base on November 9, to commemorate Remembrance Day.

The SA Legion Motorcycle Charter will, for the seventh year, partner with the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

Three mass rides will be made and will congregate at the Apex Military Base.

Gates will open at the base at 8.30am, with the wreath laying ceremony to start at 11am.

There will be an anti-aircraft display by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), strongman competitions, World War Two displays, military themed stalls, kids’ play area and food stalls.

The military base is located in Apex Street, Dalview, Brakpan.

This year marks the 100th year of the start of World War One.
