Ladies take centre stage

Stomping their way through traditionally male-dominated terrain for the much-anticipated sequel to the hit 2013 comedy show, Bitches, are Tumi Morake, Celeste Ntuli, Noko Moswete, Nina Hastie and explosive newcomer Tenjiwe Moseley.

Hosted by Anele Mdoda, Bitches Be Back will feature a special showstopper performance by Dreamgirl Tracey-Lee Oliver and an entertaining collection of stand-up comedy, sketches and singing that will have audiences celebrating women to the full, while having a good laugh.

“Stand-up comedy was always the domain of the male, until recently,” said creative director Marita van Schalkwyk.

The show’s executive producer, Taffia Keight, said the title has been described as derogatory by some people.

“We feel that being a strong woman is not always a popular position, but, to make yourself heard in the world, sometimes you have to embrace the inner tiger rather than tame it,” she said.

The women added that men are most welcome to watch the show, saying there would be much for them to learn.

The comics take on the arena at 8pm on both February 26 and 27, and there will be an entrance fee.
