Children take to the stage for Planets charity show

The production, Planets, is part of the community upliftment project, The Henrietta Dance Project, and is choreographed by the Rhythm 2 Sessions.

In honour of the founder of The Henrietta Dance Project, Henrietta Sylvia Henry, Planets is a captivating show of young performing arts talent from surrounding East Rand communities.

Carnival City is sponsoring the venue and encourages the pubic to support the shows.

Proceeds raised through the shows will be used to support The Henrietta Dance Project’s ongoing efforts to uplift young people from underprivileged communities by providing opportunities to develop and showcase their talents.

“Carnival City is a proud supporter of the local performing arts industry and is pleased to be part of this initiative which serves to help build a love for the performing arts amongst previously disadvantaged youth, provide extramural activities to keep them off the streets and, ultimately, bring new blood into the industry, thereby preserving the performing arts in South Africa,” said Carnival City’s Mduduzi Madonsela.

The lively shows on October 31 and November 1 take place at 8.30pm, with the matinee show on November 2 starting at 3.30pm.
