13th Annual Afrikaanse Musiekfees

And, it’s happening again.

Thirteen years since it first began, the Afrikaanse Musiekfees is still one of the most highly-anticipated music events to take place in Carnival City’s Big Top Arena.

And, it’s happening again.

Scheduled for Saturday, September 6, the event is expected to draw a capacity crowd, with a stellar line-up of artists on the bill.

Among those stars performing are Bobby van Jaarsveld, Bianca le Grange, Jak de Priester, Jannie Moolman, DJ Ossewa, Lance James, Arina de Witt, Pieter Erasmus, Alwyn Oberholster, Elizma Theron, and Carly Bailey.

The show will be presented by the hilarious Hannes Brümmer and Melt Sieberhagen.

Carnival City’s entertainment manager, Jaco Saaiman, said Afrikaans music fans can look forward to a spectacular show this year.

“What better way to ring in spring than with a spectacular music fest featuring some of South Africa’s most loved Afrikaans performers?” he asked.

“Produced by Lefra Productions, the Afrikaanse Musiekfees is certainly one of the highlight music festivals hosted in the Big Top Arena.”

Since its inception, the festival has delighted more than 35 000 people, with about 200 of SA’s best Afrikaans performers featuring in the shows over the years.

With his finger on the pulse of the contemporary Afrikaans music industry, producer Frans Swart manages to bring together established and emerging performers and different music genres, to deliver an electrifying show, which appeals to diverse music tastes.

The show will commence at 7pm.
