Two bodies found in Putfontein

Putfontein police are investigating a double murder after the bodies of two young men were discovered at an open veld near Mayfield on September 4.

According to Putfontein SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Raider Ubisi, the bodies of the victims, who are in their 20s, were discovered by a passer-by who immediately notified the police.

“The two had gunshot wounds to the head and were declared dead by paramedics on the scene.

“A resident who wished to remain anonymous said he heard gunshots in the wee hours,” said Ubisi.
