It’s all in a day’s work for passionate Lindi

This August marks one year since she embarked on her journey as a scholar transport provider for local children.

The Benoni City Times recently caught up with Lindi Ntuli (44) from Daveyton, a versatile entrepreneur thriving in various fields, including scholar transport, catering, baking and clothing sales.

Lindi reflects on her upbringing in a household without gender roles or democracy, where chores were assigned based on discipline rather than gender.

She said this upbringing fostered a sense of independence in her and her siblings.

In her 20s, Lindi began helping her mother, who worked at the Benoni Lake Club, gaining valuable public service experience.

“I initially worked as a waitress and later partnered with a friend to open a pub and restaurant,” she said.

“The venture didn’t succeed due to her need to care for her ailing father.”

Undeterred by setbacks, Lindi continued to pursue new opportunities.

In 2009, she moved to Bronkhorstspruit to work as a safety officer for the Department of Roads and Transport, a position she held until 2012 before returning to Daveyton.

This month marks one year since she embarked on her journey as a scholar transport provider for local children.

In addition to this, Lindi now caters for events, sells meaty bones and offers clothing for sale in Joburg and Durban.

“I find joy in what I do, especially in catering and baking, which are my true passions,” she said.

She also aspires to fulfil her dream of owning a restaurant.

Balancing her thriving businesses with family life, Lindi is a devoted wife to Daniel and mother to Njabulo and Olwethu.

She prides herself on striving for excellence without a mentor and encourages other women to forge their own paths.

Baking is Lindi Ntuli’s passion.

Lindi advocates for women to seize opportunities and embrace independence.

“Even in the face of unemployment, harness creativity and intellect to develop profitable business ideas to rescue you. If opportunities don’t come, we create them, ladies.”
