UPDATE: Community members pray for road safety at accident hotspot

“Fixing the traffic lights will also prevent loss of lives,”

Responding to Pastor Khaya Mnyanda’s prayer invitation, a few members of the community gathered on the corner of Kingsway Road and DM Mthimunye Street (Daveyton entrance) on July 25.

The day of prayer was aimed at bringing cleansing and divine intervention for safety at the problematic road which is prone to a high number of accidents.

Mnyanda expressed his gratitude for the turnout, emphasising that the significance of the gathering lay in the intention behind it, rather than the number of attendees.

A few members of the community gathered to pray at the problematic road on the corner of Kingsway Road and DM Mthimunye Street (Daveyton entrance).

“The community must continue to pray and have patience on the road.

“Fixing the traffic lights will also prevent loss of lives,” said Mnyanda.

Attendee Zithulele Naka shared his concerns about the dangerous road.

Zithulele Naka was one of the people who attended the prayer meeting on the corner of Kingsway Road and DM Mthimunye Street (Daveyton entrance) on July 25.

“I have been seeing accidents here for the longest time. Recently, my sister-in-law was also involved in an accident on this road,” he said.

“I believe prayer is a good intervention to help halt these accidents.”
