WATCH: Realtors give back to community on Mandela Day

“Community is at the heart of all we do as a business.”

George Rennie & Co is committed to connecting prospective tenants with the ideal property and ensuring the community beyond property boundaries is nurtured.

This Mandela Day, the group participated in four community outreach projects.

The team started the day with a blood drive at its Farrarmere offices, aiming to collect 15 units of life-saving blood stocks, and exceeded their expectation.

“Clients, friends and family members supported the initiative, and we were able to assist the South African National Blood Services in collecting 23 units,” said director Jo-Anne Keijer.

The team then went to the Salvation Army on Howard Avenue to spruce up the facilities.

Armed with brushes and rollers, the agents spent 67 minutes painting while residents enjoyed the smell of freshly prepared soup for mealtime.

With pots filled to the brim with soup, the team hit the streets, supplying those in need with a hearty meal, company and love.

“Ending the day on a high note, the team glammed up one of the kennels at The Animal Guardians in Cloverdene,” said Keijer.

“We aimed to revamp the space to create a warm and cosy space for its fury residents.

“We challenge other corporates to adopt a kennel, thus aiding the animal welfare organisation in providing homely kennels for their wet-nosed rescues.”

Keijer thanked Ange’s B&B and Warrior Paints Benoni for their support in making the day successful.
