WATCH: Robbers help themselves to jewellery at Atlas Mall
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
According to a private security company, at least five armed robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of jewellery after robbing a store at Atlas Mall, Atlasville, this afternoon (May 31) at around 13:00.
According to Clinton Festraets, owner of Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection, the suspects used a White VW Polo sedan as a getaway car.
Video footage about the incident has been circulating on social media and sent to the Boksburg Advertiser by a well-placed source.
It shows the robbers, unmasked, casually putting jewellery into bags and fleeing the store and then exiting through the pedestrian gate in Finch Street.
They were all wearing black jackets – four wore caps/bucket hats and one a beanie.
Boksburg Advertiser attempted to get confirmation of the incident from SAPS without success, as well as Atlas Mall.
