Club unveils new kit

“The SCBI journey is not just about sporting prowess but about fostering a community of passion, dedication and inclusivity.”

Proudly sporting their red, black and white colours, the Sporting Club of Benoni Independiente (SCBI) players were in good spirits when the club unveiled its new kit on May 3 for the new Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) season.

Club chairperson Kelvin Govender said the club would soar to new heights because of this new kit and the community’s unwavering support.

“The SCBI journey is not just about sporting prowess but about fostering a community of passion, dedication and inclusivity,” said Govender.

The club, founded in 2010 by Ismail Nanabhy, thanked Pam Golding Brakpan for sponsoring the kit and Zido Cars for providing them with training equipment like soccer balls and cones.

The SCBI boasts four divisions, U6, U7, U8 and U11 and plays in the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) age-group leagues.

Govender said their dedication to excellence matches their commitment to grassroots development.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the club’s success thus far. A special thank you to all our sponsors, including Pam Golding Brakpan and Zido Cars, and the leadership of Benoni Primary School, for generously providing their grounds as SCBI’s home turf,” he said.

Govender invited those interested in joining the club to join them at their training sessions at Benoni Primary School or call him on 076 331 9483 or 083 657 7360 for more info.
