Karatekas start season positively

The Tenshinkan Karate Benoni Dojo karatekas won eight medals at the Vaal Championship held at the club on February 17.

Bruce Cloete won a gold medal for kata and another for kumite. Brandon Wardill grabbed bronze for kata and gold for kumite.

Jeandre Liebenberg walked away with bronzes for kumite and kata, while Charleigh Cloete landed a silver for kata, and Krysten Wardill won a bronze for kumite.

Shihan Catherine Venter said the tournament was good preparation for the Eastern Gauteng champs in March at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre.
