Spurs CC ends first half of league on a high

They have so far won five league matches and lost once in the premier league.

The Actonville Spurs CC premier league side finished the first half of the Eastern Premier League in the top three on the log standings.

The club won five matches, four of those with bonus points, and lost only once in their six 50-over games.

In their last league match on November 26, they beat Duduza by 154 runs at Lords Cricket Ground as captain Saahil Khan top-scored with 77 runs while Hamza Dada fell short of a half-century with 49 runs as they set their visitors 294 to win.

In response, Duduza was dismissed for a paltry 139 inside 24 overs as Riyaad Khan was the peak of the bowlers with three wickets while Kaylin Archary and Amaan Khan assisted with two scalps apiece.

“We had a fantastic first half of the season finishing the half in the top three. The premier league side has played five T20 games, lost two and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals,” said club PRO Zunaid Seedat.

The league will resume next year.
