Karatekas dominate interclub champs

The students won gold, silver and bronze medals.

The Dan Triangle Karate Club chief instructor, sensei Chris Anthony, praised his students after they dominated the KWF interclub championships on October 28 at Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre.

Still beaming with pride after the club’s Christopher Thela and Stephanie Watt won a gold and silver medal, respectively, at the recent KWF World Championships in Japan, Anthony thanked the young karatekas for always representing the Benoni dojo with pride.

Competing against Springs, Dalpark and Brakpan CBD dojos, Anthony’s charges returned to Benoni with a bounty of gold, silver and bronze medals.

He said he was surprised by the students’ hunger and desire, especially at this time of the year, when most would start showing signs of fatigue.
