Men and women in blue took time out of their busy schedules on September 22 to celebrate their rich, diverse cultures during a Heritage Day celebration at Willowmoore Stadium.
Dressed in various cultural and traditional clothing, officers from police stations in Gauteng had fun while learning about one another’s cultures.
The Ekurhuleni district commissioner, General Anna Sithole, and senior officials from Sedibeng, Tshwane, Johannesburg districts and the provincial head office attended the colourful indigenous celebration.
Sithole encouraged her colleagues not to forget their roots.

“We have gathered here to showcase our different cultures irrespective of colour and race. We thank our provincial commissioner, who has instructed us to wear traditional clothes every Friday to acknowledge and embrace our cultures,” said Sithole.
She urged officers to respect and support one another while continuing to make positive contributions towards nation-building.
