Local school third at provincial champs

Crystal Park Primary School’s U11 chess team claimed bronze medals during the Gauteng Schools Chess primary schools finals at Walter Sisulu Hall in Randburg on August 18.

After winning the Benoni and Ekurhuleni North District chess leagues, the learners finished third overall, out of the 30 schools in the competition.

The school’s U13 girls’ team finished seventh.
