Kind hearts revitalise street

They painted the kerb, swept the tar and removed the grass on the pavement.

Members from Clean Projects, Benoni Northerns Sports Club and community volunteers got their hands dirty when they cleaned the sidewalk and painted the kerb on Brodigan Street recently.

Armed with brooms and paint brushes and dressed in green reflectors and overalls, they turned this road into a hive of activity, starting at the intersection of Hanekam and Brodigan streets down to O’Reilly Merry Street.

Nkosinathi Ngcobo, Madoda Nkomo, Thobile Klaas and Vusi Mthethwa.

Despite the August wind and dust, they removed the dirt and mounds of soil on the tar and patches of grass that had grown on the pavement.

Passing motorists waved while others hooted their approval of Clean Project’s campaign that urged Benonians to unite and keep the community clean.
