Members of the club said they managed to weathered the storm despite challenges.

Members of the Crystal Park Unity Club danced the afternoon away on August 5 as they celebrated the club’s 15th anniversary at Iceberg Venue in Putfontein.

According to Reginald Ngwenya, chairperson of the club, every five years they celebrate the club’s achievement and existence.

“Despite some of the challenges that we’ve encountered over the years, we are thrilled that we have weathered the storm, hence, this milestone celebration,” said Ngwenya.

The social club, which consists of professionals including leaders in the education sector, business and local government, was launched in 2008 by a group of men from Crystal Park.

“When we started the club our aim was to empower each other and unite against the social ills in the area. We don’t only support each other verbally but we also assist each other financially in the event of bereavements,” said Ngwenya.
