#MandelaDay: Oldies get some snazzy new threads

Clothes were collected through donations received from the public.

  1. Residents of Eddy House in Ampthill Avenue were spoilt for choice in picking new outfits to fill their cupboards this Mandela Day.

Lakeside Mall, with the support of residents, donated heaps of pre-loved clothes to the home for the aged.

“Donation boxes were available throughout the mall and the response from shoppers and community is highly appreciated,” said Chantell Roemer, Lakeside portfolio manager.

“We hope that every resident will find something dashing to wear from all donated items.”

According to Rayhana Laher, manager of the home, residents were invited to ‘shop’ from the array of goods that had been received.

“As part of our outreach, items were also shared with our neighbours at Deneys Conradie Residentia, in Railway Avenue,” said Laher.

“We are grateful for the love and care that is shared with our residents.”
