Driver arrested for lewd acts outside schools

A 41-year-old man has been arrested for public indecency after he was spotted masturbating outside schools in Chief Albert Luthuli and Crystal Park.

Crystal Parks SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mopeli said they received complaints from learners that a driver of a gold Opel Astro would allegedly stop near their school and begin to masturbate.

Mopeli said for the past few weeks, police officers have been on the lookout for the vehicle.

“He was eventually spotted by the police and arrested,” said Mopeli.

He has appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court.
