Flying squad seize counterfeit money
The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Benoni Magistrate's Court soon.

During routine operations, members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested a 54-year-old man for being in possession of counterfeit money on March 23 at 19:00.
According to Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson officers were patrolling Atlas Road when they found a suspicious-looking man on the corner of Sher Road, Lakefield.
“The man was searched and officers found him to have counterfeit Euros,” he said.
“Upon finding 7 600 Euros, the suspect offered BFS members a bribe in exchange for his freedom.”
He was arrested and the money was seized.
In further policing operations, three hijacked vehicles were found abandoned.
The vehicles included:
• A white Volvo truck was found on the corner of Park and Voortrekker roads, Kempton Park. It was reported as hijacked in Moffat View.
• A beige Volkswagen Polo was found at Etwatwa Ext 9, Emaphupheni. It was taken in the same area.
• A white Toyota Etios was found in Kempton Road. It was hijacked in Tsakane.
