The South African badminton team will face Egypt in the semi-finals of the All Africa Senior Championships at John Barrable Hall on February 16.
The hosts beat Zambia 3-0 in their quarter-final clash on February 15 while the Egyptians brushed aside Uganda 3-1 in their last eight match.
This is a repeat of last year’s last four clash in which the South African men’s team were beaten 3-1 by Egypt at the African men’s and women’s team championships in Uganda.
This time around, both teams are in red-hot form, having won all their matches on their way to the semi-finals and this promises to be a banger of a match.
Mauritius will face defending champions Algeria in the other semi-final after their 3-1 win over Nigeria in their last eight clash.
The Algerians made light work of Reunion, beating them 3-0 to set up a repeat of last year’s semi-final match where they beat the Mauritians 3-0.
