BFS arrest five suspects aged between 32 and 36

From December 8 to 10, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested five suspects and recovered three vehicles as well as one motorcycle.

Possession of unlicensed ammunition
On December 8, at 08:00, members followed up on information of unlicensed ammunition being kept at a residence in Swazi Street, Daveyton.

One suspect was arrested and 23 live rounds of ammunition were recovered.

Housebreaking
On December 10, at 12:00, members received a tip-off that community cameras had picked up a white Isuzu bakkie in Boksburg.

The vehicle had been positively linked to an attempted housebreaking in Boksburg North.

The vehicle was traced and pulled over on North Rand Road where two suspects were arrested.

Theft of motor vehicles
On December 10, at 16:00, members responded to a radio call from colleagues needing backup.

“BFS members were engaged in a chase of a suspicious white Hyundai Tucson,” said Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson.

“Members rushed to the scene and the vehicle was brought to a stop on the R562, Olifantsfontein.

“A thorough search was conducted and inside they found four sets of number plates, two bolt cutters, numerous tools and vehicle breaking implements, a Toyota computer box was well as a smart Toyota key maker.”

The Tucson was found to be bearing false registration plates. Two suspects were arrested.

Abandoned vehicles
Three abandoned vehicles which had been reported as hijacked were recovered in Ivory Park, Rainbow Avenue, Benoni and Kempton Park.

A white Sym 125cc scooter was also recovered in Springs.
