Daveyton N12 project expected to be done by June 2023
The N12 interchange will only accommodate incoming traffic from the Benoni side
The City of Ekurhuleni has set aside about R98.3m to construct a new Daveyton N12 interchange to alleviate traffic congestion along the Kingsway interchange.
Construction work began a few years ago with completion expected in June 2023.
According to metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the N12 interchange (half-diamond) will only accommodate incoming traffic from the Benoni side.
“The aim is to reduce traffic congestion along the Kingsway interchange, especially during peak hours.
“The project has been done in phases due to budget allocations per financial year, starting during the 2019/20 financial year,” said Dlamini.
The metro is constructing Alliance Road up to the N12 bridge near Emajutheni in Daveyton and completion is also scheduled for June 2023.
