Karting sensation Tjaden Tromp has promised to set the International Kartodromo Lucas Guerrero alight when he makes his European bow in the Tillotson Series T4 Nations Cup in Spain from September 29 to October 2.

The track, situated in the city of Valencia, is 1 428m long and 9m wide and it’s here where the 12-year-old will announce himself to the world.

His practice session on September 23 at Formula K Raceway showed why he’s been so dominant this season in his class. He showed incredible determination and was razor sharp on the track, giving his father and son racing team confidence going into the competition.

“I’ve seen the track on YouTube before. I expect a big performance. So we’ll have to wait and see.” he said.

Speaking to the Benoni City Times, his father, Gerrit, said they go into the competition fully aware of the challenge that awaits them.

“We are confident because he’s a talented driver. We believe he will do well even though we’ve got lots to learn when we get there,” he said.

He said he was satisfied with their preparations and that they’ve done their homework on the type of competition they are going to face.
