Old Bens looking for young cricketers
The club is looking for players who were born between 2008 and 2009 for their U14 team
The new cricket season is upon us and Old Bens Cricket Club invites junior cricketers to trials on August 6 and 7 at the nets at Old Benonians Sports Club in Rynfield.
The club is looking for players who were born between 2008 and 2009 for their U14 team, 2010 to 2011 for U12s, 2012 to 2013 for U10s and 2014 to 2015 and younger for the U8 division.
“We are looking for any players who are interested in the sport of cricket. If any girls are interested, they are welcome,” said Corrie Botha.
The U10s will have their trial on August 6 from 09:00 to 11:00 with registration from 08:00. The U12s will follow from 13:00 until 15:00 and their registration will start at 12:00.

On August 7, the U14s will have their try-out from 09:00 to 11:00. Registration starts from 08:00. The U8s will trail from 13:00 until 15:00 with registration from 12:00.
The registration fee is R200.
The club has urged all those interested to be at the venue 30 minutes before their trial.
The club will also host backup trails on August 20. They will be staged as follows:
• 09:00 – 10:00 for U10
• 10:30 – 11:30 for U12
• 12:00 – 13:00 for U8
• 13:30 – 14:30 for U14
