One police officer has been shot dead while the other has been airlifted to hospital following a shootout just after the Ewatwa off-ramp.
Details surrounding the incident are still sketchy, however the City Times can confirm that both officers are attached to the Ekurhuleni Flying Squad.
Police spokesperson Lt Col Robert Netshiunda has confirmed the shooting to the City Times.
The City Times is at the scene.
