Protea is hosting auditions

Theatre group returns to the stage with magical production

Protea Stage Productions are back and calling all budding and enthusiastic actors to audition.

Two years since its last curtain call, the theatre group is preparing to bring one of Disney’s best loved musicals, Mary Poppins, back to life.

Adapted and written by past chairman, Doug Beaton, this timeless classic is set to entertain and enthral as it did in 2011, the last time it was performed by the company, to sell out audiences.

Join director Lynsay Jonker, choreographer Nicholas De Vaux and the Protea team at Tom Newby Primary School (Gladiator Avenue, Airfield) on May 28 and 29, from 2:00 for auditions.

Casting calls are open to anyone aged six to 60, wanting to be part of this magnificent stage production and no previous experience is needed.

Roles include speaking, solo as well as group singing and dancing.

Those auditioning must prepare a song to be sung acapella or with a backtrack
All backtracks must be provided on a USB drive on the day of auditions.
