WATCH: East Rand School of the Arts brings art to life

Learners were encouraged to take their talents serious and believe in themselves.

The East Rand School of the Arts recently hosted an art awareness week where a standout trait of music, drama, poetry and applied visual arts was showcased.

Local celebrities, including Tebogo Sedumedi known as Aus Tebza, Buhlebendalo Mda and Fundile Dlamini, were among entertainment industry giants who were invited to enlighten learners about how they can turn their crafts into careers.

During the five-day event, learners were encouraged to take their talents serious and believe in themselves.

East Rand School of the Arts music educator Mmusi Morekhure, said: “The awareness week aimed to inspire learners that the arts can be a career; hence, we brought in established artists to share their journeys and enlighten learners on where they can go when they finish school.”
