Potjie competition brings animal lovers together for a good cause

East Rand Caravan World potjie competition proved to be a success on March 5 as 10 teams participated in the competition.

Benoni SPCA, which was one of their beneficiaries, received R3 550 from all proceeds raised on the day. A further R950 was raised, totalling the amount to R4 500.

Expressing gratitude to East Rand Caravan World, Benoni SPCA manager Bronwyn Kleynhans, said: “We are extremely grateful to East Rand Camping World for allowing us to be part of their event.”

Kleynhans said they went back to the society with a loaded bakkie full of donated animal food all thanks to various groups and individuals.

“One of the teams also donated tons of hay. All proceeds will be used for maintenance and repair of our equipment at the society,” said Kleynhans.
