Nominated for Sports Team of the Year

With the year almost at its end, KAD were extremely honoured to have been selected as one of the finalists of the Sports Team of the Year award at the Gauteng Sports Awards evening on November 14.

Knowledge, Advocacy and Development (KAD) Volleyball are a Gauteng team that continuously take part in events such as the Volleyball Masters Events, which are held throughout the year at John Barrable Hall.

With the year almost at its end, KAD was extremely honoured to have been selected as one of the finalists of the Sports Team of the Year award at the Gauteng Sports Awards evening on November 14.

“It was such an amazing experience, as we were exposed to so many who make a difference in our communities through their activities and participation,” said Sash Nair, media and PR director.

“Congratulations to all the winners, especially TUKS Aquatics who received the well-deserved accolade of Sports Team of the Year.

“KAD may not have won the overall award, but we were a finalist. We are inspired to have been considered in a very competitive category of high performers. At the event, there were a few of our members that represented KAD in attendance, but there are many who make up and contribute to the club’s achievements. So a special mention must be made of the club president, Tarryn Singh, and team captain, Raycine Nana, who could not be part of the proceedings but have been instrumental in the success of the club. Thank you to our players and supporters for pushing us to always be better than we were yesterday.”

Women are welcome to contact the team if they would like to join, but the teams are only for women.

“We are still playing in events and have friendly games and coaching clinics. We just don’t have a regular home venue and ongoing training dates set yet. We will start next year,” said Nair.

For the masters’ team, women over 30, and for general enquiries, training and league (open to all ages) email Tarryn Singh at info@kadvolleyball.co.za

KAD will be having their first event since Covid on November 20 at John Barrable Hall called Gauteng Masters Volleyball Tournament, which will begin at 08:00.

“There will be a memorial wall for all the players and supporters we have lost at the event as well,” said Nair.
