A brush with local artists: meet Alice Muller

Anyone who wishes to participate in exhibitions after membership closed for a year may apply to exhibit their work monthly as a guest artist upon paying a monthly fee.

They say creativity is contagious and should be passed on, a narrative of how Alice Muller fell in love with art.

Alice comes from a talented family of artists; hence, being creative is in her blood.

The 52-year-old is a visual artist who started painting four years ago.

She loves working with mixed media in oil, acrylics, inks, prints, digital design and photography.

The Benoni resident said her artwork consists of drawings, painting, printmaking, design or a combination thereof, creating texture, colour contrast and mixing fine elements with abstracts in one piece.

What was once a hobby for Alice is now even more, as some of her work was displayed in Miami and New York.
She attended oil painting classes but has no formal training.

She added that we are all unique in our own way; there is a place for every type of artist in this world.

Benoni Art Route (BAR) is open to all individuals who have a passion for creativity in all drawing and painting disciplines, as well as sculpture.
