Local business shows appreciation to Daveyton educators

Since 2017, Mashigo adopted the school and they have managed to support a few learners with new school uniforms and shoes.

The female staff members of Moshoeshoe Primary School in Daveyton were shown appreciation for the work they do.

The women recently received Mother’s Day coffee mugs filled with goodies, which were sponsored by Wilma Ewest Attorneys Notaries and Conveyancers and food from Remax Randgro.

Sales associates Parker Mashigo delivered the goodies with his colleagues Jamie-Lee du Plessis, Emanuel Torres, and Zinhle Sibiya, the broker owner’s PA.

Mashigo said the idea behind this gesture was to salute all the educators for standing the test of difficult times with the pandemic and to wish them a happy Mother’s Day.

“We also wanted to show appreciation for their efforts and the time that they had to be in school to assist and educate the learners about the new normal,” said Mashigo.

“With the pandemic, we lost teachers and family members, so we wanted to show teachers that we appreciated them and we are thankful.”

“The world needs people like you and without you, we wouldn’t be here and we are behind you all the way,” he said.

The principal of the school, Judith Ntamane, said she wished she had thousand tons to thank Mashigo for taking the initiative of adopting the school and providing a platform for the teachers to grow.

“In most cases, the teachers are confined into the school environment and it is rare for us to partner with businesses and when such opportunities occur we grab them with both hands,” said Ntamane.

“Ever since the partnership started, we have been honoured and graced by what they have been doing for our school, teachers and learners.”

Ntamane said they are blessed to have Remax Randgro on their side.

“I urge other businesses to partner with local schools because the children in our schools are from disadvantaged backgrounds and most of their parents are unemployed.”
