“On arrival, they found a hatchback light motor vehicle in flames. Fire suppression was initiated and the fire extinguished.

“One man was found lying motionlessly outside the vehicle while the other adult occupant, of unknown gender, burnt beyond recognition inside the vehicle. Both were declared dead on scene by paramedics.

“Preliminary findings are that the driver might have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a stationary object before the vehicle burst into flames.

“Rescue teams had to use Jaws of Life to recover the remains of the trapped occupant. The scene was handed over to SAPS officers for further investigation,” said Ntladi.
