Vehicle collision leaves 19 injured on the N12

Nineteen people were left injured following a collision between a bakkie and a taxi on the N12 West in Benoni on the evening of October 29.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 6pm, they found most of the patients from the taxi sitting next to the highway,” said ER24 multimedia journalist Ineke van Huyssteen.

“Upon further assessment, paramedics found that 19 patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.”

ER24 and another medical service on the scene treated the patients before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics,” van Huyssteen concluded.
